Air Express

General Freight
When you need reliable and high quality cargo service choose general freight. General freight service guarantees delivery within 48 hours.
Animals and Pets
With Guaranteed Pet Cargo Service, your animal will travel in an air-pressurized, temperature controlled cargo bay. They're boarded just before takeoff. You are required to obtain proper documentation for your pet whether shipping through our Air Cargo Service or Call Center, service fees may apply.
Please contact Midwest Airlines Cargo at least 24 hours in advance of your plans to ship an animal. The number of animals that can be accommodated on each aircraft is limited and some flights do not accept animals. When your pet is traveling unaccompanied, arrangements for transportation can be made through our Cargo Control Center at 800-892-6580, extension 5.
Temperature Restrictions
- The temperature restrictions imposed by airfreight do not apply to passengers traveling with live animals as checked baggage.

Midwest reserves the right to place temporary embargoes on live animals as checked baggage in extreme temperature conditions. The temperature restrictions for air cargo shipments will be the guidelines used for enforcing a temporary embargo. Air cargo temperature restrictions apply to temperatures at the origin, destination or enroute transfers and are as follows:
- Must not be above 85 degrees Fahrenheit or below 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
- If below 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the animal must be accompanied by a certificate/form/statement signed by the veterinarian stating the animal is acclimated to such temperatures.
- If below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, the animal will not be accepted even with a statement of temperature acclimation signed by the veterinarian.
Kennels
- Must be 2 piece, hard plastic, FAA approved kennel
- Must have absorbent liner, food and water dish available
- Animal must be able to stand-up, lay down, and turn around in kennel
Snub-nosed/Brachycephalic Dogs and Cats
Extra care is required when the breeds listed below are shipped because they often have hereditary respiratory problems. These animals are susceptible to increased risk of heat stroke and breathing problems when exposed to stress or extreme heat:

The animals listed above will not be transported when temperatures at any point on the planned itinerary exceed 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees C).
Midwest Airlines recommends passengers or cargo shippers wishing to transport any of the animal breeds listed above consult their veterinarian for any special precautions to be taken to ensure the safety and comfort of the animal while in transit.
Midwest Airlines reserves the right to deny animal travel due to weather, health, or number of animals on board.

Transportation charges will be determined by applying the applicable zone rate for each Human Remain shipment.
- HR EXCEEDING 500 lbs. = 125% of applicable zone rate.
- INFANT (Child less than 2 years old), will be rated at 25% of applicable zone rate or a $65.00 minimum
- Cremated remains charged a flat rate of $65.00 per shipment (plus a $7.50 fuel surcharge and a $5.00 security fee).
- A $60.00 fuel surcharge and a $15.00 security fee apply to all human remain shipments (infants will be charged a $7.50 fuel surcharge and a $5.00 security fee).

Midwest Airlines follows the guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Hazardous Materials Regulations as contained in Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (49CFR). Any item shown in 49CFR as a Regulated Hazardous Material will not be accepted for transport.
