Baked-onboard Chocolate Chip Cookies

Acting on a suggestion from executive chef John Farrer, a Midwest employee on a DC-9 airplane tried baking different foods in the plane's ovens in 1986. When the flight crew emerged to ask, "What smells so good?," we knew chocolate chip cookies, baked fresh onboard, would be a hit. Since then, Midwest has served millions of cookies to delighted passengers. |
