Midwest Airlines to move to main terminal at Minneapolis airport

Milwaukee, April 28, 2009 – Midwest Airlines today announced that it would move its ticket counter and gate at Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport from its current location in the Humphrey Terminal to the Lindbergh Terminal. Beginning June 1, Midwest flights will arrive at and depart from Gate E-11/13.

Moving from the satellite terminal to the main terminal will provide Midwest customers with quicker and more convenient connections to and from flights on Delta Air Lines, with which Midwest recently entered into a multi-faceted alliance.

“Midwest passengers who frequently fly through Minneapolis will particularly benefit from this terminal change,” said Timothy E. Hoeksema, Midwest chairman and chief executive officer. “Relocating our Minneapolis operations to the Lindbergh terminal will make connecting to Delta flights easier than ever. Even better, the shortened connection time will result in numerous additional connecting flight possibilities for our customers.”

Hoeksema pointed out that the new alliance with Delta will also allow travelers to earn either Midwest Miles or Delta SkyMiles when flying on either airline and also to redeem those miles for awards on either carrier. Additionally, a new codeshare agreement with Delta – the first phase of which will go into effect in June – will provide Midwest customers many more flight choices, as well as the convenience of purchasing those seats on a single ticket. And the addition of Delta’s route system will increase the number of frequent flyer destinations available to Midwest customers to nearly 400 cities when it goes into effect later this year.

Midwest customers traveling to, from or through Minneapolis will be alerted to the terminal and gate change through the reminder e-mails they receive from Midwest prior to their flights.
