Milwaukee, Feb. 25, 2010 - Midwest Airlines today announced the launch of nonstop service between Kansas City and both Columbus, Ohio and New Orleans.
"Kansas City remains an important part of our expanding network," said Greg Aretakis, vice president of Revenue Production. "We're pleased to provide our loyal Kansas City customers even more opportunity to fly Midwest Airlines."
Nonstop service to Columbus begins May 3, 2010. New nonstops to New Orleans begin May 20. Together with sister carrier Frontier Airlines, customers can now choose from 70 destinations throughout the branded network of parent company Republic Airways including 13 destinations served nonstop from Kansas City.
Service to Columbus will be provided on 99-seat Embraer 190 aircraft and service to New Orleans will be provided on 76-seat Embraer 170 aircraft. Both aircraft feature an all-leather seating configuration, buy-onboard meals and snacks, and complimentary baked-onboard chocolate chip cookies.

Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, March 15, 2010. New Orleans fares are valid for travel on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday; Columbus fares are valid for travel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Slightly higher fares apply to travel on other days. Fares are each way. Seats are limited at these fares and certain flights and/or days of travel may be unavailable, especially during busy travel periods. Tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable, but may be reissued for up to a $100 change fee (depending on the fare type purchased) as well as a possible fare increase to a non-promotional fare type. For Frontier flights, flight segment(s) must be cancelled prior to scheduled departure time or the ticket(s) and all monies will be forfeited.
Fares shown reflect purchase at frontierairlines.com or midwestairlines.com. A $25 per ticket service fee will be charged for tickets purchased through either airline’s reservations center and airport locations, or the Best Care Club. Tickets purchased on Frontier’s Web site must be paid for with a major credit card at the time the reservation is made. Depending on the fare type purchased, a $20 fee may be charged each way for the first piece of checked baggage and a $30 fee for the second piece of checked baggage. Fares do not include passenger facility fees of up to $9 each way, the September 11th Security Fee of up to $5 each way, or fees of $3.70 per segment (one takeoff/one landing). Fares to/from Alaska do not include arrival/departure tax of $8.10 each way.
