New Marketing Agreement Will Also Include Reciprocal Frequent Flyer Privileges
Milwaukee, June 29, 2009 – Midwest Airlines today announced that it will soon launch a codeshare program with Frontier Airlines.
“Under the codeshare, customers of both airlines will benefit from a wider choice of travel destinations, and additional flight options and connection possibilities,” explained Gregory D. Aretakis, vice president of Planning and Revenue Management for Midwest. “They will also have the convenience of booking their entire flight on a single ticket.”
Midwest’s “YX” code will be placed on Frontier flights, allowing Midwest customers to connect in Denver to Frontier destinations in the Rocky Mountain region.
Similarly, Frontier’s “F9” code will be placed on Midwest flights, providing Frontier customers the ability to connect in Milwaukee to Midwest flights throughout the Ohio Valley and East Coast.
Specific destinations for each airline will be announced at a later date. Travelers will be able to purchase tickets and travel on the codeshare routes beginning August 30.
The new marketing relationship between Midwest and Frontier will also include a reciprocal frequent flyer agreement, allowing members of the Midwest Miles and Frontier Early Returns programs to earn and redeem miles on either airline. Midwest plans to roll that out in the third quarter of this year.
Midwest Airlines features jet service throughout the United States, including Milwaukee’s most daily nonstop flights and best schedule to major destinations. Catering to business travelers and discerning leisure travelers, the airline earned its reputation as “The best care in the air” by providing passengers with impeccable service and onboard amenities at competitive fares.
