Midwest Airlines tops Conde Nast Traveler

Milwaukee, September 25, 2008 – Milwaukee-based Midwest Airlines has come out on top in the 11th annual Business Travel Awards poll conducted by Condé Nast Traveler magazine, placing first in the single-class domestic airline category. The airline’s score of 48.1 topped JetBlue (46.8), Frontier (28.8), WestJet (28.8) and Horizon (28.3).

Midwest also earned the highest scores in three of the five categories making up the single-class airline category: Seat Comfort/Legroom, Food/Beverages, and Cabin Service. The award was announced in the magazine’s October issue.

“In spite of difficult times for the airline industry as a whole, Midwest employees work very hard to provide our customers with ‘The best care in the air’ on every flight,” said Timothy E. Hoeksema, chairman and chief executive officer of Midwest Airlines. “It’s extremely rewarding that our customers recognize and appreciate our efforts to provide an exceptional travel experience, particularly as we refine our strategy as an airline focused on the business traveler.”

This is the third year in a row that Midwest has received the Condé Nast Business Travel Award.

Midwest Airlines has been named best airline more than 50 times since 1990. Travel+Leisure and the Zagat Airline Survey have also rated Midwest Airlines the best airline in the United States.

Midwest Airlines features jet service throughout the United States, including Milwaukee’s most daily nonstop flights and best schedule to major destinations. Catering to business travelers and discerning leisure travelers, the airline earned its reputation as “The best care in the air” by providing passengers with impeccable service and onboard amenities at competitive fares.
