Midwest Airlines Offers Additional Kiosks at Mitchell for Faster, Easier Check-in as Busy Summer Travel Season Begins

Milwaukee, May 21, 2008Midwest Airlines today announced it is adding seven kiosks at General Mitchell International Airport, including a station in the airport parking structure where travelers can check in, print boarding passes and check luggage without having to stop at the airline’s ticket counter.

The station, located at the north end of the parking structure near the third floor skywalk, is equipped with three kiosks. Travelers can confirm seats, print boarding passes and check baggage in a single stop, bypassing the ticket counter. Check-in services are available 24 hours a day, with Skycaps providing baggage check 5-8 a.m. Monday through Saturday at a cost of $2 per bag.

In addition, four new kiosks have been placed just north of the Midwest ticket counter on the main level for customers who check in via the airline’s Web site and would like to check bags.

“We are continuously looking at ways to further enhance the travel experience for our customers and live up to our reputation for providing ‘The best care in the air,’” said Joe Kolshak, Midwest Airlines chief operating officer. “Easing check-in time is a frequent request from our customers. The addition of these kiosks will certainly expedite the check-in process.

“We’ve already received positive feedback from travelers who have used the new kiosks,” Kolshak noted. “As we enter the busy summer travel season, we encourage customers to give them a try.”
